EMERGENCY services airlifted an injured Donald truck driver to the Alfred Hospital after his truck rolled over yesterday at Cope Cope south- east of Donald.
Police destroyed several injured pigs and rounded up many others let loose after the accident.
Donald Sergeant Terry Bradford said a tight bend most likely caused the accident.
"At 12.30pm a truck loaded with pigs was travelling south on the Sunraysia Highway at Cope Cope and as it was passing through a tight S-bend curve, it fell over and the pigs it was carrying were ejected from the vehicle," he said.
"The pigs that suffered injury had to be put down by police and the rest of the pigs were rounded up and put into a nearby paddock for feeding and support."
Rural Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman Tania Whalen said the driver lost and regained consciousness following the accident.
"He was flown as a precaution but his injuries are certainly not life- threatening," she said.
Sgt Bradford said police were still investigating the cause of the accident.
