NORADJUHA-QUANTONG defender Brent McIntyre will celebrate an important milestone when he plays his 200th game against Laharum tomorrow.
McIntyre, 30, will share the day with his wife Rebecca who plays her 100th game for the Bombers netball team.
McIntyre said the club's family atmosphere had drawn him back to the Bombers after a season with Horsham United in 2003.
"I missed the club while I was away. The atmosphere we have and the way everyone gets involved is fantastic, plus there are still lots of my best mates playing at the club," he said.
The road to 200 games has not been an easy one for McIntyre who has suffered a series of hamstring injuries in the past few years.
"I am just rapt it is here. It has been a long time coming because I just kept missing games. I seemed to miss eight or nine games a season," he said.
Rebecca McIntyre said the shared milestone would be something for the family to look back on in years to come.
"I have only been here a few years, but it's great to become part of the club," Rebecca said.
"Milestone's don't happen that often and to both bring up milestones on the same day is pretty uncanny.
"It will be very special for Brent's dad because he played over 200 games for the club. I know it will mean a lot to him to watch Brent run out."
Joe McIntyre was a four-time premiership player at the club and will watch his son play tomorrow.
Brent said his love of the game had started with his dad.
"I was around a lot when he was still playing," McIntyre said.
"I started playing `minnies' at half- time when he was still in the seniors. It is where I started playing football and I kept going from there."
McIntyre has achieved a lot in his career but has one big goal to achieve before he hangs up the boots.
"I want to win a premiership," he said.
`I have played in the Wimmera Football League. I played on a winning Horsham District Football League interleague side.
"But I still want to win a flag."
McIntyre said he was looking forward to running out against Laharum as the Bombers march towards the finals.
"If we can get to the finals anything could happen. We have a great culture at the club this year and everyone is putting in the extra efforts. We have a lot of belief and that is important," he said.
