SWIFTS Football and Netball Club will answer a Call to Arms to raise money for the fight against cancer tomorrow.
Swifts and Taylors Lake footballers and netballers will sport yellow armbands in matches at North Park, Stawell.
Swifts will collect donations for the Cancer Council of Victoria.
Call to Arms is a fundraiser pioneered by the Essendon Football Club after player Adam Ramanauskas survived two battles with cancer.
Swifts chairman Brian Barber said Call to Arms focused on cancers affecting men.
"Everyone in the community has known someone who has had cancer. I have lost two brothers-in-law to cancer so it is great for the club to get behind a cause like this," he said.
Barber said other Wimmera clubs would hold Call to Arms fundraisers this season.
"We are away at Pimpinio next round, so I called the Cancer Council and asked if we could hold it a week early. We also checked with Taylors Lake and they were happy to be part of it," he said.
Barber said spectators could donate money at points around the ground, including the canteen and netball courts.
"If people are donating a bigger amount and want an official receipt, they can put their donation in with their contact details," Barber said.
"The Cancer Council will then send them a receipt."
