JUNG Tigers Cricket Club will look to form a new base at a developed Haven Recreation Reserve.
Jung has no permanent home, but has operated from Horsham College.
President Carl Sudholz said the decision to get involved with the Haven project was a major step forward for the growing club.
"We decided at our annual general meeting that we will support the development of the facility with the intention of becoming a permanent resident," Sudholz said.
"At the moment we have no facilities, no clubrooms, we just have a rental agreement with the college.
"It is the biggest issue that the club is facing, we are really strong on all other fronts."
Sudholz is also the chairman of the Haven Recreation Reserve committee.
He said the committee was in the process of forming an 11-stage master plan, outlining exactly what the project would entail.
Sudholz said the club would be looking to move to the yet-to-be built ground within four years.
He said Jung Tigers would be heavily involved in what the new facilities would be.
Sudholz said the facilities would include modern training nets that could be potentially coupled as a Western Waves training base.
He said the ground would ideally have turf wickets as the committee have already looked into ways of catching water.
Sudholz said it was an exciting move forward for the Tigers.
"We are keen to get out there," he said.
"We will go from having nothing to having top class facilities."
He said the development would be beneficial for cricket in the Wimmera.
"It is looking good at this stage, and we definitely want a turf wicket," he said.
"It gets us away from the sharing arrangement at Horsham City Oval, and I think there is a big need for another turf wicket in our association."
