EDENHOPE-APSLEY have put themselves in prime position to secure third position with one round remaining in Horsham District Netball Association action.
The Saints moved ahead of Natimuk as they held on to a gritty six-goal win against the Rams.
Edenhope-Apsley coach Cara Vanzini said it was a great win for the club heading in to finals.
"It was a great win for the girls, very exciting," Vanzini said.
"We were pretty much neck and neck for three quarters, and then a quick swap of one of our tall defenders into attack I think got us over the line."
Vanzini said she swung tall defender Ellie Thomas into attack and she had a big impact on the result.
She said Emma Ryan was also prominent switching from centre into defence to cover for Thomas.
Vanzini said the Saints would be working hard against Harrow-Balmoral on Saturday to ensure they finished in third position.
"We would like to have the second chance, although we hopefully won't need it but it is always nice to have," she said.
In other results Laharum finished its season on a high with a 43-goal win against the struggling Swifts.
Laura Poole was dominant and Hayley Roberts a stand-out for Laharum, while Kaitlyn Ralph and Kate Hargreaves battled hard for Swifts.
The Kalkee juggernaut rolled on with a 60-goal thumping of Taylors Lake.
Fiona Jasper and Kim Abbott were best for the Kees, and Gabrielle McCulloch and Carly Watkins best for the Lakers.
Great Western hit form against Pimpinio, surging to a 26-goal win.
Kim Hay and Nicole Harding were best for the Lions, while Ebony Cramer and Sandra Kitchen were the stand-outs for Pimpinio.
Noradjuha-Quantong continued their march towards finals with an 18-goal win over finals aspirants Rupanyup.
Coach Rebecca McIntyre and Zoe Heard put in strong performances, while Claire Bywaters and Jodie Hendy were best for Rupanyup.
This week: Edenhope- Apsley take on Harrow- Balmoral at Edenhope, Kalkee will host Swifts, Great Western takes on Natimuk at home, Rupanyup hosts Taylors Lake, while Noradjuha-Quantong will host Pimpinio.
