HORSHAM'S Domonic Spicer bounced his way to second place at the Trampoline Sports Australian Championships in Bendigo.

Spicer, 12, finished second in the under-15 synchronised event with Victorian team- mate Nick Masterson, 14.

Spicer also finished fourth in the double-mini competition and fifth in the individual competition.

"In the double-mini I was 0.1 point away from a bronze medal," Spicer said.

"I like the double-mini the best because it is lots of fun to do."

Spicer was the youngest competitor in his age group which made him feel even better about his achievements.

"It feels really good to do so well. When I looked around and saw the age of the other competitors, I thought that I was doing alright," he said.

Spicer said the worst part of competition was waiting to compete.

"It is very nerve-racking. I was biting my nails a lot during the finals," he said.

"You are in a holding room while you warm up and then all the competitors march out together.

"It takes a lot of patience to keep yourself prepared."

Spicer's performance at the Australian Championships has qualified him for the Indo- Pacific Trampoline Championships in Rotorua, New Zealand in August, but he has his sights set on bigger things.

"We have decided to miss the Indo-Pacifics which includes all the nations on the Pacific Ocean and aim for the Trampoline World Championships in Russia in November 2009," Spicer said.

"So I have started to save for that already.

"I have the Horsham Sports and Community Club sponsoring me as well as the YMCA, Jenny and Rodney Clarke and Mary Speedmann.

"But I would love to have some more sponsors to help me get to Russia."
